After August’s technology-related glitch<\/a>, the blog was back to showing year\/year traffic gains again in September. For the first time ever, September saw more than 30,000 page views. The prior peak, from 2018, was a little over 29,000. Last month finished with more than 34,000 views this time around. That’s up almost 30% from 2020. It works out to an average of north of 1100\/day. That’s only the 7th time the blog has averaged more than 1000\/day, with the four most recent being this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from 2020, with obvious COVID influences, September has never beaten August in readership during the life of the blog. That didn’t change this year. Even missing a few thousand views this time around because of a counting problem, August still beat out September – albeit it by a small margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and the full year readership record of just over 260,000 fell earlier this week as well. It’s looking like the site is on track to blow past the 300,000 mark by the time 2021 wraps up. It’s currently running nearly 30% above the best prior year-to-date page view total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It’s interesting to see the line-up and serve receive posts in there. Not a surprise given the time of year, though. They are all the sort of thing you’d expect coaches to be interested near the start of a new season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
