{"id":862,"date":"2013-09-03T09:50:24","date_gmt":"2013-09-03T08:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachingvb.com\/?p=862"},"modified":"2013-09-03T09:50:24","modified_gmt":"2013-09-03T08:50:24","slug":"game-2-in-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testsite.coachingvb.com\/index.php\/2013\/09\/03\/game-2-in-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Game: 2 in 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Synopsis:<\/strong> This is a simple, likely fast-moving, game which requires players to score in both serving and serve receive situations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Age\/Skill Level:<\/strong> This game is suitable for all levels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> Two teams, full court, 2 balls<\/p>\n<p><strong>Execution:<\/strong> This is a standard serve-initiated game with alternating pairs of serves (Team A serves once, then Team B serves once) using a <a title=\"Volleyball Coaching Concept: Wash Drill\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingvb.com\/volleyball-coaching-concept-wash-drill\/\">wash<\/a> scoring system. A team must win both the service rally and the serve receive rally to score a point. If one team cannot win both rallies, no points are scored and the two serves are repeated. Teams rotate each time a point is scored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Variations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li title=\"Volleyball Coaching Concept: Wash Drill\">Depending on how long you want this game to go on, you could run it to a set point objective (15, 25, etc.), or just on a timed basis.<\/li>\n<li title=\"Volleyball Coaching Concept: Wash Drill\">You can change the rotation rule to require a team to win a point before it can rotate (rather than both teams rotate together).<\/li>\n<li title=\"Volleyball Coaching Concept: Wash Drill\">This could be used just as easily for <a title=\"Small-sided volleyball games\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingvb.com\/small-sided-volleyball-games\/\">small-sided games<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you don&#8217;t count missed serves as rally wins for the receiving team you will encourage players to serve more aggressively.
